Spa Day for Boys

I went to cut my boys' finger and toe nails the other day and was disgusted at how clammy and dirty their feet were.  Obviously, they were not doing a very good job scrubbing their toes well during their daily shower.  So, I filled up our bathroom sinks with warm water and some bath salts and had them sit on the counter while I scrubbed exfoliator on their hands and feet.  Then they soaked in the sink for several minutes.

The experience was not at all like a quiet, calming day spa.  They were laughing so loud, squealing, telling silly jokes, and asking so many questions.  What is that green stuff?  Why does that feel scratchy?  Are you putting slime on me?  I'm sure there were also a few fart noises thrown into the mix as well.  But since I don't have girls to do this girly stuff with, I still had fun scrubbing, rubbing, and soaking their little feet and hands.
After they were dried and moisturized I had them put on fresh socks.  They ran around on their happy toes and laid on their backs kicking in the air.  I don't think they would admit it, but they loved the feeling of fresh, smooth, squeaky clean feet.  It was so much fun.  I wish I could say that their feet stayed fresh and clean all day, but in reality, after a few hours of running around and playing, they were sweaty and sticky with sock lint all over them again.

  1. Thank you for sharing! What an awesome thing to do with your boys! I am always checking the finger nails (hands and feet) of the boys in my life...brothers, cousins, no one is off limits!
