"By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; and by knowledge its rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant treasures." Proverbs 24:3

Photos of Our NYC/Philly Vacation.

We visited Times Square our first night in NYC...

The next day we visited the Intrepid museum.  We got in free with our Science Museum pass...

Here are the boys with my sister, our generous host...

The next day we rented a car and drove to Philly.  This picture is hanging in the State House aka Independence Hall...

This is the actual room where the Declaration of Independence was signed...

THE Liberty Bell.  The Free One put it over his head.  You can see his little feet sticking out of the bottom.  The first person who can tell me the Bible verse inscription on the bell will get five gold stars.

Here are the boys in front of Benjamin Franklin's remains.  If you throw a coin on his tombstone you'll have good luck forever.  Our coin kept bouncing off : )

I had to have a Philly cheese steak whilst in Philly.  Whilst we were devouring our sandwiches the cops were busy putting a parking ticket on our car...

The Boys got to drive a real Amish buggy in Lancaster County.  They even got to see the horse poop on the road, which apparently was the highlight of the ride.

Back in New York enjoying Magnolia cupcakes in Rockefeller Square...

Yes, that is Kermit the Frog in the background.  He's resting up for the big Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade and I think The Anchor is trying to lick his own shoe.

Snoopy is sniffing the boys with his big nose.  Also, I wonder who still uses pay phones?

Gum Gum from "Night at the Museum" was a must see at the Museum of Natural History.  The Anchor must be sad because the statue had just called him, "Dumb Dumb."

My sister ordered a Thanksgiving Feast that was delivered in a box with a worksheet.

 Lady Liberty herself.

We thought she would be a bit taller than this...

The boys drew these pictures as a tribute to 9/11...

We had them laminated and left them at the 9/11 memorial...

Here we are with the Chrysler building in the background...

On our way back home...  The Free One is studying up on what to do in case of a water landing.

Over all we had a great vacation seeing all the New York sights and spending time with my sister.  My next post will kick off a series about family friendly traveling with kids and will include a germaphobe's guide to clean travel.  Stay tuned...

  2. It looks like a great trip Tennille. Can you believe I've never been to NYC or Philadelphia? Years of teaching History and Government, but just visited Washington DC last year for the first time. Sinful! thanks for sharing your pics.

  4. Thanks for looking at our pictures everyone. Cheryl you would love the sightseeing and history there. With little kids I couldn't take time to read all the informative signs and see everything I was interested in, but I still learned a lot. You should definitely plan a trip there. You too, Andrea!! There are so many fun things to do.
